The Canadian Transportation Agency and the Vancouver International Airport Authority (YVR) will jointly launch two innovative products designed to make it easier for persons with disabilities, including seniors, to travel by air:
- the Agency's air travel guide entitled Taking Charge of the Air Travel Experience - A Guide for Person with Disabilities; and
- YVR's CD-ROM entitled Barrier Free Access.
The event will be on Monday, October 19, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Immediately following the ceremony, the media are invited to participate in a brief tour focusing on the Airport's accessibility features. The tour will provide some excellent visual opportunities.
Media parking is available on a first come, first served basis, at Level 2, in the courier spaces between the international and domestic terminals. Additional parking is available in the public parking facilities.
Media representatives requiring accessible transportation or other assistance are asked to please contact YVR Media relations at (604)880-9815 at least one day in advance, to ensure their needs are met.
