APPLICATION

Transocean Canada Drilling Services Ltd. applied, through its representative, for a licence to use the “HENRY GOODRICH”, a Vanuatuan mobile offshore drilling unit, to perform drilling activities for the exploration and development of petroleum resources, off the east coast of Canada, exclusively in the continental shelf zone, commencing March 1, 2015 and ending February 28, 2016.

FACTS AND DETERMINATION

A search of the Canadian marine industry was conducted and it was determined that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity described in the application.

The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
