APPLICATION by OSG Overseas Ship Management (Canada) Inc., pursuant to the Coasting Trade Act, S.C., 1992, c. 31, for a licence.
OSG Overseas Ship Management (Canada) Inc. applied, through its representative, for a licence to use the “SN OLIVIA”, an Italian tanker, to transport approximately 500,000 to 600,000 barrels of crude oil, in one voyage, from Whiffen Head, Newfoundland and Labrador to Halifax, Nova Scotia and/or Canaport, Saint John, New Brunswick and/or Portland, Maine, United States of America via pipeline to Montréal, Quebec and/or Halifax and/or Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, commencing on or about January 3 and ending on or about February 1, 2013.

FACTS AND DETERMINATION
Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.
The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
