Types of contraventions - Air

A Designated Enforcement Officer who believes that a regulated entity has committed a violation of the Canada Transportation Act or regulations, or when a regulated entity has not complied with a CTA Order, may issue a Notice of Violation setting out the administrative monetary penalty (AMP) that the regulated entity is liable to pay. AMPs are administered based on a progressive scheme of penalties aimed at fostering compliance.

ATR 8.2(5) Where the licensee is named as an additional insured under the policy of the person who is providing all or part of an aircraft with flight crew, not having a written agreement between the licensee and the person, providing that for all flights for which the person provides all or part of an aircraft with flight crew, the person will hold the licensee harmless from, and indemnify the licensee for, all passenger and third part liabilities while passengers or cargo transported under contract with the licensee are under the control of the person.
