Complaints about baggage

If your baggage has been damaged during your flight, or if it is missing, you should first report it to the carrier. The carrier's compensation limits for lost  or damaged baggage are set in its contract of carriage (its tariff). The Agency can help in ensuring the carrier honours the terms of its tariff.

Interline baggage rules for Canada

A single set of baggage rules should apply throughout a passenger's interline itinerary if the transportation has been issued on a single ticket. The baggage rules applied must either be those of the carrier responsible for the first segment of the interline flight, or those of the carrier responsible for the most important portion of the flight. It should be clear, at the time of purchase, which rules will apply.
