WestJet

(A) On or about October 5, 2023, WestJet failed to ensure a member of personnel who may be required to interact with the public or to participate in making decisions or in developing policies or procedures in relation to the requirements of these Regulations, received training that provides an adequate level of knowledge and skills to carry out their functions, including training with respect to the requirements of these Regulations and the policies and procedures of the transportation service provider with respect to persons with disabilities, thereby contravening subsection 16(1) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.

(B) On or about October 5, 2023, WestJet failed to ensure that a member of personnel who has received training required by Part 1 of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (ATPDR) also received, at least once every three years, refresher training that is suitable for the requirements of his functions, thereby contravening section 21 of the ATPDR.

(C) On or about October 5, 2023, WestJet failed to provide assistance services, on the request of a person with a disability and without delay, to assist the person with disembarking flight WS0208, thereby contravening subsection 35(f) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.

(D) On or about October 5, 2023, WestJet failed to provide assistance services, on the request of a person with a disability and without delay, to assist the person with transferring between their passenger seat and a mobility aid upon the arrival of flight WS0208, thereby contravening subsection 35(h) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.
